Bifurcation analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems

The bifurcation analysis of nonlinear dynamical systems is carried out with a twofold aim:

  • to fully understand the possible (even coexisting) dynamical behaviours of a given model by varying some parameters
  • to provide design criteria in order to set the system parameters to values that ensure a proper, structurally stable, dynamical behaviour.

We analyzed both continuous-time (steady and time-dependent) and discrete-time dynamical systems.
