Tomaso Poggi was born in Varazze (Savona), Italy, on Oct 7, 1982.

He received his Laurea (M.Sc.) degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Genoa, Italy, on November 2006, and his Ph.D. degree in Mathematical Engineering on April 2010. Since April 2011, he is a researcher at ESS-Bilbao, Zamudio, Spain.

His main research interests are in the area of embedded systems, with emphasis on:

  • Circuit implementation of piecewise-linear functions
  • Piecewise-linear approximation/identification techniques
  • Explicit model predictive control
  • Virtual sensors
  • Circuit implementation of dynamical systems
  • Low-Level RF systems in particle accelerators

Tomaso Poggi was actively involved in the MOBY-DIC European research project, www.mobydic-project.eu.
